FAQS

Here are the most common questions we get asked about hot water.

Q. WHERE CAN I BUY A THERMANN UNIT FROM?

Thermann hot water units are all available from Reece Plumbing stores. Find your nearest store here.

Q. HOW MUCH DOES INSTALLATION COST?

Installation costs vary depending on your current home situation, and if any plumbing elements require upgrading or changing. It is best to consult with a licensed plumber to get a detailed quote for installation.

Q. MY ELECTRICITY BILLS ARE HIGHER THAN EXPECTED?

Is the Pressure & Temperature Relief Valve discharging too much water?
Is one outlet (such as the shower) using more hot water than you think?
Is there a leaking hot water pipe or dripping hot water tap?

Q. DO I NEED TO SERVICE MY ELECTRIC STORAGE UNIT?

We recommend a six monthly service to be completed by the home owner:

Simply operate the Pressure & Temperature Relief Valve for approximately 10 seconds by lifting the lever on the valve to ensure water is relieved to waste through the relief drain pipe.

We also recommend a service every five years by a licensed plumber to ensure optimum operation of the unit.

Q. WHAT DO I DO IF MY ELECTRIC STORAGE UNIT ISN'T DELIVERING ANY HOT WATER?

Is there power to the home?
Is the Pressure & Temperature Relief Valve discharging too much water?
Do you have the correct size unit for your requirements?
Is one outlet (such as the shower) using more hot water than you think?
Is there a leaking hot water pipe or dripping hot water tap?

If none of these queries rectify the situation, we recommend seeking advice from a licensed plumber, or contacting your local Reece branch who can organise a service call for you.
